Underwriting Assistant – Chicago

Company Description

Cross Cover Insurance Services is a Managing General Underwriter (MGU) company providing high limits and innovative products to our clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and confident Underwriting Assistant who believes he or she will contribute to Cross Cover immediately.

Underwriting Assistants provide additional support to the Underwriter in quoting and binding policies and managing the book of business. Job tasks could vary, but often include preparing submissions for underwriters, administrative duties, as well as organizing and arranging account files.

• Clear and assign submissions to Underwriters in CoverIT
• Prepare account files for the Underwriters to quote
• Create documentation (Binders, Policies, Endorsements) to be sent to Brokers
• Order inspections
• Request Loss Runs
• Other duties as assigned by Underwriters

• High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Strong MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Detail oriented
• Strong written and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Organization, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task.
