The Senior Commercial Lines Underwriting Leader will oversee a $300M+ Commercial P&C portfolio and lead a team through significant growth, transformation and expansion. This role will drive underwriting strategy, portfolio profitability, underwriting appetite, risk selection and overall business performance across the Commercial organization.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of Commercial P&C underwriting experience with 5–10+ years of underwriting leadership experience preferred
- Broad Commercial P&C underwriting experience with strong Small/Middle Commercial expertise
- Proven experience owning portfolio profitability, underwriting strategy, appetite, pricing, risk selection and loss ratio performance
- Experience leading leaders and managing through multiple levels of an underwriting organization
- Strong experience with Commercial Lines such as Contractors, BOP, Commercial Auto, Workers’ Compensation and/or General Commercial
- Experience with independent agency distribution and broker relationships strongly preferred
- Ability to help scale and expand a Commercial portfolio through significant growth
- Experience with underwriting transformation, systems modernization, process improvement and change management a plus
- Strong executive presence, communication skills and ability to operate with autonomy
