We are seeking a Casualty Cyber Claims Specialist to support the handling of complex casualty claims arising from cyber events and technology-related incidents. This role sits within the Casualty Claims department and focuses exclusively on cyber-triggered casualty losses, including data breaches, ransomware events, network security failures, and other cyber-related incidents.
The Casualty Cyber Claims Specialist is an individual contributor role responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of assigned claims in accordance with policy terms, best practices, and regulatory requirements. The position requires close collaboration with internal partners, external counsel, brokers, and insureds, and plays a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality claims outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Handle a caseload of casualty claims arising from cyber events, including third-party bodily injury, property damage, and related liability exposures
- Conduct thorough investigations, including coverage analysis, liability assessment, and damages evaluation
- Interpret and apply policy language accurately to determine coverage, exposures, and appropriate claim strategy
- Manage claims through their lifecycle, including reserving, negotiation, and resolution within assigned authority
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, legal, and risk engineering, as needed
- Retain and manage external defense counsel, forensic experts, and other vendors
- Evaluate litigation exposure and develop appropriate resolution strategies

- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience handling casualty claims, cyber liability claims, or complex third-party liability claims within commercial P&C
- Experience with cyber-triggered casualty losses strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of coverage analysis, liability evaluation, and claims resolution practices
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload of complex claims
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet service and regulatory deadlines
- Ability to evaluate complex information from multiple sources and apply sound judgment
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional designations such as AIC, CPCU, or similar claims-focused certifications
- Experience handling claims involving emerging or technology-driven risks
- Experience working with outside counsel and managing litigated matters
Competitive base salary at $110,000 - $150,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on experience, education, and location.
