Travel Educational Interpreter - Chicago, IL

A travel opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support both Extended School Year (ESY) and Regular School Year (NSY) services in the Chicago, IL area. This role focuses on delivering high-quality interpreting and hearing itinerant services within school settings, ensuring effective communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) services during the regular school year, totaling 330 minutes per day.
• Deliver hearing itinerant services for 100 minutes per week (direct) and 180 minutes per month (consultation).
• Support ESY from June 15, 2026, through July 24, 2026, by providing 1100 minutes of interpreter services weekly (full day).
• Conduct hearing itinerant services during ESY for 100 minutes per week (direct) and 75 minutes per month (consult).
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, educators, and peers.
• Collaborate with school staff to adapt interpreting techniques to individual student needs.
