Volunteer Mentorship Opportunities at Chicago Tech Academy
Tech Nexus is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and changing who is represented in the technology ecosystem by providing more capital, resources, and access to marginalized groups who have been overlooked for far too long. We believe “Everyone means Everyone.” In partnership with Chicago‑based tech companies, we co‑founded Chicago Tech Academy, a public high school on the Near West side in 2009.
Chicago Tech Academy partners with iMentor, a national nonprofit, to match every 11th and 12th grade student at Chi Tech with a 1‑to‑1 volunteer mentor to support them in reaching their highest career aspirations. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer mentor at Chi Tech Academy through iMentor, you can apply here and we will follow up with your next steps!
If at this time you are unable to make the mentoring commitment but are interested in getting involved in the school community, there are many ways to contribute, including:
- Speak to students
- Host a field trip
- Host a student internship
- Become a mentor
- Provide a project for Project‑Based Learning
- Provide pro‑bono professional services
- Attend Career Day
- Sponsor an event
Your time and experience is the most valuable thing you have to offer; invest in our future. You can learn more about general volunteer opportunities at the Chicago Tech Academy website.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
