Legal Assistant

Description

Robert Half is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant to join a wonderful firm in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will provide vital support to attorneys by managing cases, coordinating communications, and ensuring the smooth flow of legal operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring all details are tracked and deadlines are met.

+ Serve as the primary liaison with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.

+ Coordinate with insurance adjusters and claim representatives to secure authorizations for treatments, medications, and surgeries.

+ Draft and edit legal documents, including motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.

+ Compile and prepare special documentation for submission to insurance carriers.

+ Request and organize itemized bills and medical records from clients and healthcare providers.

+ Utilize case management software to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

+ Support billing functions and calendar management to optimize workflow efficiency.

+ Assist in personal injury plaintiff and civil litigation matters.

+ Contribute to client relations by providing clear and precise communication

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Proficiency in case management software and legal billing systems.

+ Strong organizational and calendar management skills.

+ Knowledge of personal injury plaintiff and civil litigation processes.

+ Ability to draft and edit legal documents with attention to detail.

+ Familiarity with handling medical records and itemized billing.

+ Polish language fluency is a plus.
