Overview
Product Counsel to support product development for Uber's largest and fastest-growing delivery businesses:
Grocery & Retail. The Delivery Legal team is a critical business partner as we scale a global platform that enables millions of consumers to get almost anything delivered—from everyday essentials to unexpected delights. You will offer strategic counsel to Product, Operations, Strategy, Engineering and Sales teams to help launch new features, enter new markets, and build deep integrations with enterprise partners and merchants around the world.
You will tackle novel, complex problems at the intersection of technology, commerce, and regulation and help execute on a core strategic bet for Uber.
- Lead legal reviews for new products and features across the Uber platform, supporting consumers, merchants, and earners, and coordinate global reviews with regional legal teams from early design through launch
- Provide deeply partnered and strategic feedback on a wide range of sophisticated issues, including consumer protection, privacy, commercial law, intellectual property, licensing, and competition
- Act as a connective force across Legal and cross-functional teams, synthesizing inputs and driving timely, actionable advice for the Delivery business
- Be a strong communicator and collaborator on a high-performing, diverse team to achieve legal and business priorities
- Draft terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclosures, and other policies governing the use of Uber products and services
- 5+ years of legal experience in private practice, government, and/or in-house (or minimum 4 years total legal experience including at least 1 year at Uber)
- J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state
- Experience with global marketplaces or platform businesses, particularly in delivery or related services, and comfort navigating regulatory requirements for product builds that launch across multiple global markets
- Strong, team-oriented collaborator, with confidence and flexibility to perform in nimble, rapidly changing and growing environments, and to build relationships with business and legal partners
- Superior analytical and legal skills, mature judgment, innovative thinking and a desire to think ahead
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear advice for non-legal colleagues and to interface with senior business managers and executives
- Owning mindset, curiosity, and desire to make a big impact

For US locations, salary ranges vary by city:
Chicago, IL USD 187,000 – 205,000;
New York, NY USD 208,000 – 225,000;
San Francisco, CA USD 208,000 – 225,000;
Washington, DC USD 208,000 – 225,000. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation, and will be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at:
