Legal Secretary
Significant and Relevant Legal Experience Required.
This is a Full-Time position, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm.
OverviewAs a senior-level Legal Assistant, provide full administrative support for the Company's Legal Department. This role handles highly confidential and sensitive materials related to litigation and legal matters affecting the Company. The position works independently and in coordination with General Counsel and department staff to deliver proactive, high-quality service.
Primary Responsibilities- Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings and motions
- Draft, issue and answer discovery and subpoenas
- Draft, file and manage post-judgment proceedings, citations, rules to show cause and sheriff sales
- Prepare mechanics lien notices, releases, final waivers, bond claims
- Draft and file Annual Reports, memoranda, resolutions, and corporate governance documents
- Draft Commercial Real Estate Agreements for lease, purchase and sale
- Maintain, record and file all legal documentation
- Prepare and timely dispatch certified mailings and emails
- Track and ensure deadlines are met; utilize appropriate tools and processes
- Manage tasks assigned by General Counsel and Senior Legal Assistant
- Facilitate prompt, efficient, and professional communication with employees, service providers and business partners
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience. Workman’s Comp, Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice experience not considered.
- Certification as a legal assistant or paralegal preferred
- Mature, with sound judgment and professionalism to manage confidential Company matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage assignments
- High level of organization, productivity, and self-discipline
- Commitment to accuracy and quality of work product
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with Company Managers and Executives
