Grade/Step: 18 (Full-Time/Union)

Salary: $78,328

Location: Juvenile Courthouse/1100 S Hamilton

Primary Functions

Coordinate services and facilitate communication between the Cook County State's Attorney's office and the community. In addition, provide information on the various resources that the State's Attorney's Office has available.

Working Environment

Hours:

Monday Friday 9:00 am – 5:00pm (There will be some weekend assignments)

Physical Requirements

Medium Work:
The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate development, planning and evaluation of annual goals and objectives for local office, based on community needs
  • Develop and maintain a network of partnerships with community resources in targeted community prosecution areas
  • Represent the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and its mission to the community at large
  • Provide community presentations and other outreach activities as needed to enhance relationships
  • Develop specialized areas of knowledge to benefit the community, including but not limited to: domestic violence, gun crimes, juvenile crimes, and crime on the Chicago Transit (CTA).
  • Maintain database of resources, keeping pertinent information updated. Constituents should receive referrals and victim rights information as needed. An emphasis should be placed on enhancing prosecution; however, services should be provided to all constituents seeking assistance
  • Attend/speak at community events, meetings and programs as needed (candidate must have own transportation)
  • Complete bi-weekly reports detailing involvement in community engagement events/activities
  • Interacts regularly with State's Attorney's Office Employees
  • Interacts regularly with outside agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must have previous volunteer experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience with planning, coordinating and executing special events, Webinars, Trainings, Community Meetings, etc.
  • Bi-Lingual.
  • Experience with working with government and or non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of CRIMES, TEAMS, ZOOM
