Trust & Estate Attorney

A leading international law firm is seeking an Estate Planning Associate with at least three years of experience to join its Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group in a brand-new Chicago office. This is a rare ground‑floor opportunity to help build and shape a new location for a major global platform.

You won’t be stepping into a legacy team—you’ll be one of the first trusts and estates associates in a newly launched office with ambitious growth plans. From day one, you will take on meaningful responsibility serving high‑net‑worth individuals, traditional and nontraditional families, family offices, and closely held businesses across the full spectrum of estate and tax planning.

This role is ideal for someone who wants both sophisticated work and the chance to influence culture, operations, and long‑term growth in one of the country’s most dynamic legal markets.

• Advise clients on estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, and related matters
• Draft wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents
• Support family offices and business owners on succession planning
• Collaborate with colleagues across tax, corporate, and litigation teams
• Contribute to the development of a new office, including mentoring, culture‑building, and process design

• Minimum 3 years of estate planning experience
• Strong drafting skills and familiarity with sophisticated planning techniques
• Experience working with high‑net‑worth individuals and families
• Excellent communication skills and client‑service orientation
• Interest in contributing to the growth of a new office
