Trust & Estates Attorney

A downtown Chicago law firm with a collaborative private client law practice is seeking an Illinois-licensed Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of experience. The firm represents high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and entrepreneurs, and is composed of attorneys and tax professionals who work closely together across estate planning and tax. This role is ideal for an associate who wants to build a sophisticated, long-term private client practice in a collegial environment with meaningful responsibility and direct client exposure.

• Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
• Assist with gift and estate tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families
• Support family business succession planning and wealth transfer strategies
• Handle trust and estate administration matters
• Prepare federal and Illinois estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns

• 2–5 years of experience in trusts & estates / private client law
• Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar
• Experience with estate planning, trust administration, and tax planning preferred
• Strong drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Interest in developing a long-term private client practice
