Labor & Employment Associate Attorney; Venture Capital Focus – Lateral

An AmLaw-recognized law firm is seeking a lateral associate to join its Employment & Labor practice with a focus on advising venture capital and investment-backed clients in Chicago.

This role is well-suited for an associate with broad employment law experience who is interested in working closely with venture capital funds, portfolio companies, and on industry-specific employment matters within a highly collaborative platform.

The associate will advise venture capital and other investment firms, as well as their portfolio companies, on a range of employment and labor matters, including counseling on employment issues arising in the VC ecosystem. The role includes close collaboration with fund formation and corporate teams to support clients across the lifecycle of investment and growth.

• 3–6 years of experience in employment and labor law
• Broad exposure to employment counseling and related compliance matters
• Familiarity with venture capital–backed companies or investment firm clients preferred
• Interest in collaborating with fund formation and corporate teams
  
  Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Admitted in Illinois or eligible to waive in

• Highly regarded Employment & Labor practice with strong VC and funds integration
