About The Role

The Global Investigations team focuses on combating organized and serious crime, as well as addressing internal misconduct across the platform. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of both internal and external investigations. This requires utilizing internal tools and case management systems to triage and analyze investigative data, identifying productive lines of inquiry. A core requirement is the ability to manage large datasets and possess a strong understanding of fraud and cyber‑related crimes.

The scope of your work will involve diverse crime types across both internal and external cases. You must be capable of working independently and making sound, well‑reasoned decisions.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead high‑quality investigations into sophisticated, global threats impacting the business, delivering timely results.
  • Develop actionable cases for internal business partners and/or for referral to law‑enforcement agencies.
  • Focus targeted investigations on Uber's highest priority threats affecting the company and its community.
  • Generate concise and comprehensive case reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical findings into easily understandable language for diverse audiences, including law‑enforcement.
  • Proactively identify and develop innovative strategies and methods to mitigate vulnerabilities and pinpoint individuals posing a threat to Uber.
  • Collaborate effectively with numerous partners, managing stakeholder expectations in a supportive team environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience conducting investigations, with a focus on fraud and criminal activity, in either a law‑enforcement or corporate investigations setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in investigative interviewing and producing clear, structured investigative reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets to identify key evidence and present findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including proficiency with the Google Suite.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python, or a commitment to develop these skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage a strong network of contacts in both the private sector and law‑enforcement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and accommodate flexible hours.
Compensation and Benefits

For Chicago, IL;
Dallas, TX; and Miami, FL-based roles, the base salary range for this role is USD $104,000 per year – USD $115,500 per year. For all U.S. locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. All full‑time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
