Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chicago, IL for the position of Head of Legal. The Head of Legal will be responsible for leading the legal strategy and overseeing all legal matters of the company. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with global financial regulations, drafting and reviewing legal documents, providing legal counsel to executive leadership, and addressing legal issues that may arise in the course of business operations.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external legal counsel to mitigate risks and uphold the company’s compliance and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Law and deep knowledge of legal principles and systems.

• Proven experience in Legal Compliance and proficiency in managing regulatory requirements.

• Skills in Legal Consulting and providing strategic legal advice to stakeholders and leadership teams.

• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other critical documents.

• Ability to effectively manage and resolve Legal Issues and provide strategic risk mitigation solutions.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or related industries is a strong advantage.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with a team-oriented mindset.

Bonus Points

• Experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital assets regulatory issues

• Background in both transactional and regulatory work

• Prior in-house experience at a high-growth startup or fintech company
