We are seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney who will handle personal injury cases before they enter litigation, including evaluating, investigating, and managing injury claims, negotiating with insurance companies and defense counsel, and working closely with clients to secure settlements.

Location:

Chicago Pay Range: $120,000 - $175,000 USD

• Review potential new personal injury cases, evaluate merit and potential value, and recommend further action.
• Work with pre-litigation case managers to review case documents (medical records, police reports, witness statements) to establish liability and damages.
• Conduct investigations by speaking with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather evidence and determine case strength.
• Maintain regular client communication, provide case updates, explain legal options, and guide clients through the pre-litigation process.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters, opposing parties, and other stakeholders.
• Draft settlement offers and other legal correspondence as part of the negotiation process.
• Monitor deadlines and statutes of limitations to ensure compliance in the pre-litigation phase.
• Collaborate with pre-litigation case managers and attorneys to organize case files and document information.
• Stay informed on developments in personal injury law, insurance practices, and industry trends to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Current member in good standing of the Illinois Bar
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in personal injury law with a focus on pre-litigation case management
• Experience negotiating settlements with insurance companies and managing pre-litigation claims
• Strong communication, negotiation, and writing skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Empathy and professionalism in client interactions
• Knowledge of personal injury law, insurance procedures, and relevant legal requirements
• Experience in a high-volume personal injury practice
• Familiarity with Filevine (preferred)
