Role DescriptionThe Associate Attorney, Business Immigration, supports the preparation and management of employment-based immigration matters, including O-1, EB-1, EB-2 NIW, L-1, E-2, H-1B, and EB-3 petitions. This includes drafting recommendation letters, letters of support, forms, compiling case packets, and contributing to case strategy under Partner supervision.
The Associate Attorney will collaborate with and provide guidance to Immigration Paralegals and support staff. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office at our Chicago, IL location.
Potential relocation to our London office may be discussed for highly qualified candidates.
- Maintain communication with clients regarding case progress via email and phone
- Assist in developing case strategy with supervising attorneys
- Identify required documentation from petitioners and beneficiaries
- Request, organize, and review supporting materials from clients
- Draft supporting documentation including letters, affidavits, and legal arguments
- Prepare and review immigration forms
- Assemble case filings and supporting exhibits
- Collaborate with paralegals on case preparation and timelines
- Review case materials for completeness and accuracy
- Assist with responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and other agency inquiries
- J.D. and active bar admission in good standing
- Experience preparing employment-based immigration petitions
- Strong experience in O-1, EB-1, and/or EB-2 NIW preferred
- Working knowledge of L-1, E-2, H-1B, and EB-3 cases
- Strong legal drafting and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience working with paralegal teams preferred
