In-house Attorney - Insurance Coverage

I am working with a fast-growing venture capital back company that is seeking an experienced Insurance Attorney/Partner to join it's Chicago office.

The Role

• This is a hands‑on, strategic in‑house role for an insurance lawyer who wants to move beyond pure claims or coverage litigation and help build a company at the intersection of insurance, technology, and AI
• You will work closely with executive leadership and commercial teams on a wide range of insurance and regulatory matters impacting a rapidly evolving technology business

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on insurance coverage issues across multiple lines, including professional liability, cyber, E&O, D&O, and technology‑related risks
• Develop and manage relationships with insurers, brokers, and external counsel
• Support the structuring, placement, and development of the company’s AI insurance program
• Adapt to new AI products, features, and commercial offerings
• Monitor and assess insurance‑related regulatory developments impacting AI, data, and emerging technologies
• Partner with the board of directors to develop an efficient tool and the development of new business

Candidate Profile

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in the state of Illinois
• 7+ years of significant experience in insurance coverage
• Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain client relationships
• Strong leadership, client-development, and team-management skills
