The Chicago office’s Corporate & Securities group continues to expand and is seeking a midlevel associate to support its strategic transactional platform.
Description- The firm is seeking a midlevel associate (3–5 years) to join its Corporate & Securities practice. The group handles strategic transactions and financings for companies at every stage of the growth cycle, along with complex commercial contracting and corporate governance matters.
- You will work on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and high-level corporate matters that shape the trajectory of growing businesses. Expect direct involvement in drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing deal flow, advising on governance issues, and supporting clients through pivotal inflection points.
- This is not a siloed role. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced partners and cross-functional teams while maintaining meaningful responsibility on sophisticated matters.
- The ideal candidate is comfortable inside a deal room, understands transaction pacing, and knows how to balance precision with efficiency. Strong judgment, client-facing maturity, and the ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously are essential.
- J.D. with strong academic credentials
- 3–5 years corporate transactional experience
- Experience at an AmLaw or comparable national firm preferred
- Mergers and acquisitions experience
- Experience with financing transactions
- Complex commercial contracting experience
- Corporate governance advisory experience
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple active deals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Salary range: $260,000 – $390,000 annually (based on qualifications and experience)
- 1850 hours billable minimum with bonus tied to exceeding
