We are a respected Labor & Employment law firm in Chicago, providing high-level legal counsel to clients across a range of industries. Our practice is expanding, and we are seeking a Corporate/Commercial Attorney with litigation and transactional experience to join our team.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Litigator (8-10 years) with a strong background in commercial litigation as well as exposure to contract review and corporate transactions
. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling complex litigation matters while also assisting in corporate legal work such as business transactions, governance, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract disputes, business torts, and other corporate-related litigation.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts
    , including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct contract review, drafting, and negotiation for a variety of corporate agreements.
  • Provide counsel on corporate transactions
    , including mergers, acquisitions, and business structuring.
  • Work collaboratively with the firm's labor and employment practice to address corporate compliance issues.
  • Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously and communicate effectively with clients.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 8-10 years of experience in commercial litigation and corporate law.
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and handling motion practice.
  • Experience with contract review, corporate governance, and business transactions
    .
  • Excellent research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois (or eligibility for admission).
