Bankruptcy Paralegal – Chicago (West Loop)

Full-Time, Direct-Hire

Hybrid Schedule (4/1 for first 90 days, then 3/2)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a respected mid-sized law firm in Chicago’s West Loop with finding an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join its growing Business Restructuring practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys in on sophisticated corporate Chapter 11 matters and related litigation.

The paralegal will play a key role in supporting multiple attorneys on complex restructuring matters, including case management, document drafting, e-filing, trial preparation, and ongoing case administration. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being deeply involved in the lifecycle of large bankruptcy cases.

• Assist attorneys with corporate Chapter 11 filings, adversary proceedings, and related restructuring work
• Prepare drafts of motions, notices, service documents, and other pleadings
• Coordinate and complete nationwide electronic court filings
• Organize case materials, maintain case calendars, and ensure deadlines are met
• Prepare petitions, schedules, proofs of claim, fee applications, and related documents
• Compile exhibits and provide support for hearings, trials, and evidentiary matters
• Retrieve and analyze docket information and court filings
• Conduct factual research and assist with document review
• Collaborate with litigation technology teams on matters involving both bankruptcy and litigation components

• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
• 3+ years of recent and tenured bankruptcy litigation paralegal experience
• Chapter 11 corporate reorganization work is required
• Chapter 7 corporate liquidation is required
• Strong experience with electronic filing in federal bankruptcy courts
• Familiarity with bankruptcy software (Best Case or similar systems preferred)
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and time tracking (InTapp preferred)
• Experience preparing fee applications, MORs, and trial support materials is a plus
• Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite weekly after 90 day onboarding)
• Standard 35-hour workweek with occasional overtime

• Salary range: $80,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience
• Eligibility for discretionary bonus
