Overview
The University of Chicago Law School seeks a Fellow (ranked Lecturer) for the Abrams Environmental Law Clinic for the 2025-26 academic year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). Responsibilities- Train and supervise law students in environmental law practice.
- Co-teach the Clinic’s seminar component.
- Develop potential projects and assist in publicizing the Clinic’s cases and activities.
- Organize and coordinate relevant events, lectures, and other Clinic activities.
- Support the goal of training aspiring clinical teachers and public-interest environmental attorneys.
- J.D. degree with at least two years of work experience as a practicing lawyer.
- Preference for candidates with experience in an environmental clinic or other non-profit organization or government agency using litigation and related enforcement tools.
- Member in good standing of at least one bar and ability to obtain admission to the Illinois bar by waiver or examination promptly upon joining the Clinic.
- Excellent writing, editing, advocacy, and supervision skills.
- Experience clerking at the trial court level is strongly desired.
- Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.
