Energy/Project Finance Associate (3-5 yrs) – Am Law 50 Firm

About the Position: Our client, a leading Am Law 50 firm, has an active need for a project finance attorney focused on renewable energy projects to join its Chicago office as an associate. This practice has extensive energy sector experience and advises clients on all legal and commercial aspects of transactions, from the beginning stages of project development through equity, debt financing and tax equity financing arrangements and M&A transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Represent sponsors and financing parties in connection with the development, acquisition and financing of renewable energy projects
• Handle every stage of an infrastructure project, from bidding and pre-development, to project development, financing, ownership, operation and asset management of infrastructure projects, and acquisitions
• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements, financing agreements and joint venture agreements

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience with project finance transactions involving renewable power and energy transition
• Familiarity with project development and project operation contracts
• Strong academic credentials

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $310,000 – $420,000.
