Restructuring Attorney

The Position:

A leading global AM Law 100 law firm is seeking a Counsel level Attorney to join its Restructuring practice group in Chicago. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated attorney with significant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Qualified candidates should have at least 8 years of experience representing secured lenders or other creditors in bankruptcy proceedings as well as out-of-court workouts, restructurings, foreclosures, asset dispositions, liability management transactions, and assignments for the benefit of creditors.

This role offers the chance to work on complex, high-stakes matters while leveraging strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and related creditor-side matters.
• Previous experience in financial restructuring or bankruptcy transactional matters.
• Experience representing various parties in and out of bankruptcy court, including workouts, asset acquisitions, DIP financing, and other motion practice.
• Worked in a variety of restructuring performance improvement, bankruptcy, turnaround, and advisory engagements.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing and analytical skills are required.
• Strong communication skills and be highly motivated.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and communicate effectively with clients.
• Illinois Bar required.
