The Law Office of William J. Factor, Ltd. (Factor Law) is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney (3–5 years) to join our bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice. This role is ideal for a mid-level associate who wants to handle both debtor and creditor matters, take ownership of litigation responsibilities, and develop into a well‑rounded bankruptcy practitioner and commercial litigator.

About Factor Law

Factor Law is a Chicago‑based boutique firm focused on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation. We represent small businesses, fiduciaries, individuals, financial institutions, and other sophisticated parties in complex disputes involving financially distressed parties. Our attorneys handle all aspects of bankruptcy cases under Chapters 11 (including Subchapter V), 13 and 7, and litigation matters in state and federal court.

We combine the complexity and rigor of large‑firm work with the collaboration, flexibility, and direct client access of a boutique practice.

We have also been early and enthusiastic adopters of the latest in research and other technologies, including platforms focusing on AI tools.

This position is geared for a 3–5-year associate (although we are flexible for the right candidate) with a foundation in bankruptcy and/or litigation who wants to deepen and diversify their experience. The ideal candidate writes motions and briefs exceptionally well, focuses on details, while also understanding the overall context, gets along well with colleagues, enjoys collaborative work, and strives to achieve the best result possible for a client.

Associates at Factor Law work directly with partners on active litigation matters, appear in court, and engage with clients and opposing counsel on a regular basis.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and writing sample to
