Overview

You are a skilled family law advocate who wants a serious platform to build your future, not just another “job.” Our Chicago-based matrimonial firm is hiring an experienced attorney to take a lead role on complex, high‑net‑worth, and emotionally sophisticated cases. We offer a very competitive base compensation of $110,000-$140,000 plus bonus potential tied to performance. Additional compensation if you bring a book of business.

We provide reasonable, clearly defined expectations for billable hours, plus support to meet them, dedicated support staff, and robust practice technology so you can focus on lawyering, not administrative work, and grow into a visible, go‑to name in family law. All inquiries kept confidential.

• Manage a litigation-heavy family law docket (divorce, parentage, pre/post‑decree, support, allocation of parental responsibilities, and orders of protection).
• Take ownership of cases through final resolution: strategy, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial.
• Serve as a trusted counselor to clients navigating crisis—balancing empathy with clear, candid advice.
• Collaborate with a tight-knit team of attorneys, paralegals, and outside professionals (forensic accountants, business valuators, and mental‑health professionals).
• Contribute to firm growth through mentoring junior lawyers, refining systems, and, if interested, helping with business development.

• 5+ years of focused matrimonial/family law experience in Illinois, with significant courtroom exposure in Cook and other Illinois counties.
• Current Illinois bar license in good standing.
• Proven ability to run cases: you can move files, hit deadlines, and drive matters to resolution.
• Exceptional writing and oral advocacy; comfortable arguing contested motions and evidentiary hearings.
• People skills, maturity, and discretion when dealing with affluent and/or high‑conflict clients.
• Strong business sense: respect for billable time, responsiveness, and reliability; you do what you say you will do.

Compensation:
$110,000-$140,000 per year
