Trusts & Estates Attorney

A respected Chicago-area law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its growing private client practice. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals, families, and business owners on sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and related matters.

The ideal candidate will assist clients with a broad range of estate planning and wealth transfer strategies while collaborating with attorneys and advisors to deliver thoughtful and comprehensive legal solutions. This role provides direct client interaction and meaningful responsibility in planning and administration matters.

• Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
• Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, tax-efficient planning, and asset protection considerations.
• Assist with probate and trust administration, including preparation of court filings and fiduciary accountings.
• Counsel trustees, executors, and beneficiaries on fiduciary duties and estate administration procedures.
• Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and family offices to implement estate planning strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda related to estate, tax, and trust issues.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Illinois Bar.
• 3–7 years of experience in trusts and estates, estate planning, or probate matters preferred.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and client counseling skills.
• Experience with estate planning software and probate filings is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple matters while providing excellent client service.
