Candidate Must have the following: 3+ years of experience in consumer class action;
Substantial hands‑on litigation experience;
Knowledge and understanding of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the state mini‑TCPA laws and automatic renewal laws;
Engagement in other complex litigation areas, including consumer protection, unfair competition, and false and deceptive advertising;
Familiarity with investigations and proceedings initiated by the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other federal and state regulatory agencies is a plus;
Experience with discovery and litigation discovery disputes, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, drafting and arguing pleadings and motions, and managing cases on a day-to-day basis;
Experience in a large law firm setting (experience will be current or very recent).
Stellar academic credentials (Law Review and/or Moot Court accolades desired);
Strong research, verbal & written communication skills, and analytic skills required;
Illinois Bar.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Representing a diverse clientele including Banks and Bank Holding Companies, Debt Collectors and Buyers, Manufacturers and Retailers, Food and Beverage Companies, and Tech Companies.
- Managing consumer class actions and complex litigation from inception to resolution.
- Engaging in various complex litigation areas, including consumer protection, unfair competition, and false and deceptive advertising.
- Aiding investigations and proceedings initiated by the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other federal and state regulatory agencies.
- Assessing litigation risk.
- Handling discovery and litigation discovery disputes.
- Taking and defending depositions.
- Conducting witness interviews.
- Drafting and arguing pleadings and motions, and managing cases on a day-to-day basis.
- Advising clients on regulatory compliance (e.g., FTC, CFPB, state laws).
