Our client is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their law firm in Chicago.

This role will provide transactional support to attorneys in all phases of commercial and residential real estate which includes coordinating due diligence, drafting and reviewing documents, managing closings, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the transaction process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and manage documentation for transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, leases, estoppels, SNDA agreements, and closing binders.
  • Coordinate and manage due diligence materials for commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions and borrowings.
  • Review and summarize title commitments, exception documents, UCC searches, and surveys; prepare title and survey objection letters.
  • Communicate and coordinate with title companies, lenders, surveyors, clients, and opposing counsel to facilitate smooth closings.
  • Prepare closing checklists, track contingencies, and manage pre-closing and post-closing tasks.
  • Assist with real estate financing transactions, including preparation and review of loan documentation, escrow instructions, and disbursement statements.
  • Form and maintain entities for real estate deals (LLCs, limited partnerships, etc.) and obtain necessary EINs or good standing certificates.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 4+ years of real estate paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • In-depth understanding of title and survey review, closing procedures, zoning procedures and commercial loan documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions with competing deadlines.
  • Experience handling multi-property portfolios or development projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
