Compensation: $125,000 to $165,000 base salary, based on experience
A nationally recognized, top ranked A List law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Chicago office. This is an excellent opportunity to support sophisticated litigation matters, work alongside accomplished attorneys, and play an active role throughout the full lifecycle of complex cases. The firm offers a collaborative environment, high quality work, and a flexible hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Support attorneys across all phases of complex litigation, from case inception through trial and post trial proceedings
- Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, production, and deposition preparation
- Manage large case files, document databases, exhibits, pleadings, and other litigation materials
- Use Relativity to organize, review, code, search, and produce electronically stored information
- Assist with deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness materials, and maintaining deposition files
- Prepare for and provide hands on support during hearings, arbitrations, and trials
- Create and maintain trial binders, exhibit lists, witness files, chronologies, and case databases
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, vendors, court personnel, and internal support teams
- Assist with court filings, cite checking, factual research, and preparation of legal documents
- Monitor case deadlines, court schedules, and procedural requirements
- Provide guidance and support to junior paralegals and case assistants when appropriate
- 5 to 15 years of litigation paralegal experience within a law firm or similarly sophisticated legal environment
- Trial experience is required
- Relativity experience is required
- Experience supporting complex commercial litigation or other document intensive matters
- Strong knowledge of discovery procedures, litigation workflows, and trial preparation
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to producing accurate work
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and broader case teams
- Flexibility to work additional hours during trials, major filings, or other critical case periods
The anticipated base salary is approximately:
$125,000 to $165,000
Compensation is flexible based on experience and qualifications. The position also includes a discretionary bonus, comprehensive benefits, and the possibility of a sign on bonus for the right candidate.
