Import Manager

System: Cargo Wise

We are seeking an experienced Import Manager on behalf of a large global freight forwarder to lead and support our import operations team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day freight forwarding activities. The successful candidate will oversee import shipments, ensure operational excellence, maintain customer satisfaction, and drive team performance using Cargo Wise.

• Manage and develop a team of Import Coordinators.
• Oversee daily air and ocean import operations from origin through final delivery.
• Handle key customer accounts and support complex shipments when required.
• Ensure accurate shipment processing, customs compliance, and documentation.
• Monitor KPIs, workflow, and service levels to meet customer expectations.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational and customer issues.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, and trucking providers.
• Ensure accurate job costing, billing, and data integrity within Cargo Wise.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.

• 5+ years of import freight forwarding experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, customs procedures, and U.S. import regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with Cargo Wise.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
