About UI HealthThe University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) is part of UIC and provides comprehensive care, education, and research. UI Health includes a Joint Commission‑accredited tertiary care hospital, outpatient clinics, and the Mile Square Health Center network, as well as the seven UIC health science colleges.
This position supports the Medical Center by receiving, storing, issuing, and managing supplies, linens, and equipment in the Distribution Services storeroom under indirect supervision of the Storekeeper II and the Supply Distribution Manager. It operates Monday‑Friday 3:00 PM‑11:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities- Receive, store, issue, load, and unload equipment and supply items as required.
- Verify incoming orders against requisitions, invoices, or other documents; enter receiving data into the Pathways Materials Management (PMM) system.
- Use PMM to retrieve supply inquiries, unit measurements, and pricing information; issue requisitioned items after confirming available stock.
- Report deviations from established procedures to the Storekeeper II.
- Replenish supply cabinets, par‑level carts, and linen daily for patient‑care areas.
- Organize supplies in bins, pallets, or shelves; perform cycle counts as assigned.
- Rotate stock according to receipt date; inspect supplies for expiration or damage.
- Label supply items with identifying codes when required.
- Maintain accurate records of supply issuance.
- Order supplies to maintain inventory par levels using PMM replenishment requisitions.
- Apply resourceful methods to handle supply items in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist in interfacing between PAREX and PMM.
- Perform Distribution Services duties to ensure 24‑hour, seven‑day availability to the Medical Center.
- Participate in periodic cycle counts and other inventories.
- Attend staff meetings and required in‑services.
- Set up and operate equipment for meetings and in‑services.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
