Our client is looking for a skilled Buyer/Senior Buyer/Planner for Food Ingredients/Flavors in a manufacturing environment. The position will lead end to end supply and production planning in assigned categories. It will be responsible for managing Supplier Relationships and performance.
This is an onsite/hybrid role in Chicago area, Western O'hare Airport area. It is a Confidential Search for a seasoned Buyer/Senior Buyer/Planner. This role combines procurement and production planning responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Procurement strategy for assigned raw materials
- Managing positive relationships with suppliers
- Selection, Relationship, Negotiations, Dual Sourcing - Collaborate with scheduling and forecasting
- Manage consumption availability and inventory levels
- Adhere to all food safety standards
- Ensure proper usage of ERP system
- Bachelor’s Degree, MBA Preferred
- 5 plus years purchasing experience in food, flavors, carriers, extracts herbs & spices
- Hands on experience and strong understanding of ERP systems Netsuite preferred
- Supply Chain, Purchasing, or PMP Certification a plus
- Strong negotiating skills, vendor and contract management experience
- Ability to travel domestically or as required
- Industry experience in Food or Food Chemical Manufacturing.
- Local candidates highly preferred.
