Supply Chain Operations Assistant Manager - Hybrid | Lincolnshire, IL

We are seeking an energetic Senior Material Planner to drive fast, accurate procurement, optimize material flow, and strengthen high-impact supplier partnerships that keep our production operations running at full speed.

About the Role

The Supply Chain Operations Assistant Manager oversees order management, inbound logistics, and data integrity while leading a team of Sales Assistants. It manages the full customer order lifecycle and strengthens operational visibility through automated reporting and KPI analysis. The Supply Chain Operations Manager also drives cross-functional process improvements, handles complex escalations, and coordinates quality-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop Sales Assistants, overseeing workload distribution, training, performance management, and staffing input.
  • Manage the full customer order lifecycle, including intake, validation, modifications, cancellations, returns, and claims.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics—routing, carriers, ASNs, and customs—and resolve transit or quality issues for international shipments.
  • Maintain accurate data across SAP, Rapid Response, and integrated portals while building automated reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses to drive improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional process standardization and automation initiatives while serving as escalation for complex customer, product, pricing, and quality issues, including defects and rework coordination.
  • Ensure confidentiality, policy compliance and safe work practices. Travel as required
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, and inventory management practices
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; advanced SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and follow detailed
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years in international supply chain, order management or sales operations; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Associate degree required;
    Bachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, IT, Data Analytics or related field).

Physical Requirements
  • Office-based role with occasional warehouse exposure
  • Requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and general office equipment operation
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
