Sales Executive

19 Logistics is a freight brokerage specializing in temperature-controlled and time-sensitive freight solutions. As part of the Fresh Edge family of companies, we support an extensive network of produce distributors, ensuring seamless transportation services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing and Claims Administrator to join our growing team and play a critical role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.

• Cold call, qualify, and close new shipping clients - with an emphasis on food, beverage, and temperature-sensitive freight - to build a sustainable pipeline.
• Serve as the single point of contact for your customers, quoting competitive rates, managing RFPs, and consulting on spot market trends.
• Build a network of vetted carrier partners across Dry Van and Refrigerated modes (both FTL and LTL/partial).
• Oversee day-to-day load tracking, rate confirmation negotiation, issue resolution, and delivery confirmation, supported by our after-hours operational team.
• Grow gross margin volume to qualify for dedicated operational support staff assigned directly to your accounts.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and transportation partners
• Obtain and manage freight shipments from existing and prospective customers
• Source qualified and reliable carriers to meet customer transportation requirements
• Negotiate carrier rates while maintaining company margin and profitability objectives
• Negotiate customer pricing and provide accurate freight quotes
• Match available carrier capacity with customer freight needs
• Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with carriers and customers
• Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery
• Provide customers with timely shipment updates and tracking information
• Proactively communicate delays, service issues, or changes in transportation schedules
• Resolve shipment issues, including delays, missed appointments, damaged freight, and carrier service concerns
• Verify carrier qualifications, insurance, operating authority, and other required documentation in accordance with company procedures
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment, customer, carrier, and pricing information in the company's transportation management system (TMS)
• Maintain accurate records of rates, confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other required documentation
• Build and maintain a reliable network of transportation carriers
• Identify opportunities to increase shipment volume and revenue from existing customers
• Prospect for new customers and develop new business opportunities as assigned
• Monitor market conditions, capacity, fuel trends, and freight rates
• Maintain appropriate gross profit margins on each shipment
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding credit, pricing, carrier selection, and customer commitments
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, operations, accounting, and management to ensure successful shipment execution
• Follow up on outstanding documentation and billing requirements
• Assist with resolving freight claims and other customer or carrier disputes
• Meet established revenue, margin, volume, and customer-service goals
