Wichita Packing Company, a family-owned Chicago food company serving the food service industry since 1964, is seeking a dependable, highly organized Product Line Coordinator to oversee day-to-day ordering, inventory, and customer order management for our prepared salad product line.

This hands-on position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate customer demand. The successful candidate will own the product line and help ensure we have the right products in the right quantities to fulfill customer orders while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.

• Receive and process daily customer orders for prepared salad products.
• Review current inventory and determine product requirements based on customer orders and anticipated demand.
• Place purchase orders for the quantities needed to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Monitor inventory daily and maintain appropriate product par levels.
• Adjust inventory and ordering levels for seasonal changes, holidays, and anticipated high- and low-demand periods.
• Review historical sales and order patterns to help forecast future product needs.
• Monitor product shelf life and inventory rotation to minimize waste and out-of-date product.
• Help prevent both product shortages and unnecessary excess inventory.
• Identify potential shortages or inventory issues early and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and product records.

The ideal candidate enjoys taking ownership of a product line and is comfortable making daily decisions about inventory and customer demand.

• Experience with inventory control, purchasing, order entry, food distribution, customer service, or a related position.
• Food service, food distribution, or perishable inventory experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and mathematical skills.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and computer-based inventory/order systems.
• Ability to analyze sales and inventory information and recognize trends.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned products.

• Customer orders are entered and fulfilled accurately.
• Appropriate inventory is available to meet customer demand.
• Product shortages are anticipated and minimized.
• Excess and aging inventory are kept to a minimum.
• Par levels are adjusted appropriately for seasonal demand.
• Purchasing decisions reflect both current orders and anticipated sales.
• Inventory discrepancies are identified and resolved quickly.
• Sales, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams receive timely communication regarding product availability.
