We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician with preferred certifications in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing building infrastructure, with a preference for experience in educational institutions. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall condition of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • In the following areas, perform general maintenance, repair, replace, or modify items to ensure they are in proper and safe working order. Request any repair or replacement parts and supplies needed to complete tasks:
    • Electrical – switches, receptacles, bulbs, ballasts, etc.
    • HVAC – thermostats, motors, filters, etc.
    • General Maintenance – routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Assist in traffic control on campus for drop‑off and pick‑up of students and parking for events. Make sound decisions in traffic control by being flexible, decisive or firm with drivers, depending on the situation.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and seek assistance for any task that would need additional personnel or equipment.
  • Assist when needed with the upkeep of campus grounds, athletic fields, housekeeping, and set‑ups and teardowns.
  • Request, accept, and provide suggestions or recommendations and guidance to and from others on how and why to best complete tasks.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally and clearly with the entire school community (faculty, staff, parents, students, visitors and outside vendors).
  • Work closely with the Director to communicate, address, and solve any concerns, issues or priorities that may arise during the performance of duties.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and projects as needed or requested by the Director of Facilities.
  • Contribute positively to team morale, maintaining a positive, pleasant demeanor.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Related experience in Facilities Operations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work requests, instructions, drawings, schematics, and procedures.
  • Basic computer and typing skills required (Microsoft 365 and Paycom Payroll System knowledge preferred).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Regularly climb ladders, including to rooftops.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Regularly use close and distance vision.
  • Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule (weekdays, evenings and weekends).
