Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Position:
Repair and Tool Technician at The Home Depot. Responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. Works in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In-store duties include servicing store customers in Tool Rental, writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verifying tool operation, and demonstrating proper use when needed.

In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned before returning to the store of origin. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained.
• In stores: service Tool Rental customers, write contracts and invoices for rental and repairs, check tool operation, and demonstrate proper use as needed.
• Support day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• In non-store locations: repair units, test quality of repairs, and clean before returning to the originating store.
• Maintain knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
