The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. This role ensures that buildings are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards, contributing to a healthy and professional atmosphere for staff, visitors, and clients.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, common areas, and breakrooms
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
• Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)
• Maintain janitor closets & equipment in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Must understand and follow company safety policies
• Must be able to adhere to the responsibilities and physical requirements of the job
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with a team
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safely
• Follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and safety procedures
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
• Set up / take down of event materials
• Lifting, loading, unfolding and moving tables, chair, materials, and other equipment as needed
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is an asset
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and safe handling procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Requires repetitive bending, stooping, standing, walking, twisting, and squatting
• Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
• Good visual and spatial perception
• Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc
