SUMMARY:

The Housekeeper reports directly to the Community Director. It is essential that the Housekeeper report to work at his/her regularly scheduled work hours. The Housekeeper must be able to “walk” the property on a regular and as-needed basis in order to perform his/her job duties. The Custodian / Housekeeper must have the physical capability to walk all around the property, including stairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • It is essential the Housekeeper work at his/her regularly scheduled work hours.
  • Clean assigned areas, rooms, apartments, or other spaces on a prescribed schedule.
  • Keep track of all duties on reports, complete reports accurately and promptly.
  • Clean all assigned areas to an acceptable standard.
  • With the Community Director, keep management apprised of all conditions of assigned areas, resident related observations/matters (i.e. damage to units), or any other information which may be useful in carrying out the duties of the Housekeeper or important to the well-being of the resident or the building(s)
  • Clean and disinfect common areas as assigned
  • Deliver notices packages, letters, and other items as directed.
  • Trash out vacant apartments as directed; clean vacant apartments for new residents.
  • Pick up trash on the grounds and in common areas daily or more often as necessary.
  • Housekeepers are required to report and replace missing light bulbs building damage or vandalism, unusual circumstances and conditions, and other related incidents, in writing to their supervisor.
  • Undergo periodic training as prescribed, job-related screening (such as TB and communicable disease screening), and other mandated requirements of ALF employees Be able to understand and master the training and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the training topics (i.e. elopement plans, emergency plans, recognizing elder abuse, community protocols, etc.)
  • Adhere to and diligently exercises COVID protocols
  • Assist management by performing duties related to emergencies (including inclement weather) Any other tasks assigned by management.
LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

  • The individual must be fluent in English, able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The individual must be able to work in an environment where being a team player is essential. Communication with all personnel is essential for the company to succeed as a whole. Additionally, the individual must be willing to assist other team members as needed and successfully take on new responsibilities as demand requires.
