Custodial Janitor

Core Clean is seeking dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitors to join our custodial team. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing assigned areas.

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.

• Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste and recyclable materials.

• Replenish restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.

• Operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers,and vacuums.

• Perform floor maintenance, including scrubbing, buffing, and spot cleaning.

• Respond promptly to spills, cleaning emergencies, and special cleaning requests.

• Follow proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and blood borne pathogen guidelines.

• Properly handle, label, and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to supervisors.

• Maintain assigned cleaning closets, equipment, and supplies.

• Complete assigned cleaning tasks within established time frames.

• Follow supervisor instructions and company policies.

• Participate in required safety meetings and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance.

• Ability to work independently and with a team.

• Must demonstrate professionalism and respect toward coworkers, supervisors, and facility personnel.

• Ability to pass any required background checks and obtain necessary facility security credentials.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to push and pull cleaning carts and equipment.

• Comfortable working in large facilities and performing repetitive physical tasks.

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Work Expectations

• Arrive on time and be prepared to perform assigned duties.

• Follow all Core Clean attendance, safety, and workplace conduct policies.

• Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Maintain cleanliness and quality standards throughout each shift.

• Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members.

• Complete required training and follow established cleaning procedures.
