Overview
Position Title: Membership Development Manager
Reports to: Membership Director
Position Summary: The Membership Development Manager at the Union League Club of Chicago is a dynamic sales professional responsible for driving membership growth through proactive sales strategies and relationship-building initiatives. This role collaborates closely with senior management to achieve membership goals and enhance club growth.
Responsibilities- Meet monthly individual sales goals through proactive methods such as member referrals, lead follow-ups, and networking at community events.
- Conduct in-person tours of the clubhouse and confidently close membership sales on site.
- Assist in recruiting efforts, develop creative sales strategies and contribute innovative ideas to drive membership growth.
- Possess an outgoing personality with a positive attitude and be comfortable engaging with high-net-worth individuals.
- High proficiency in Excel, Zoom, and comfortable with public speaking at hosted events.
- Thrive in a fast-paced team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- Maintain a polished demeanor suitable for executive interactions.
- Collaborate with General Manager, Board President, Membership Director, and Membership Team to achieve annual membership recruitment goals.
- Identify and cultivate leads for new members through engagement with Chicago businesses and associations.
- Assist in day-to-day tasks such as imputing proposals, information gathering, and event planning.
- Represent the club at civic and industry functions to attract potential members.
- Support club policies and standards while fostering inter-departmental relationships to bolster membership efforts.
- Participate actively in community associations to expand networking opportunities.
- Analyze membership trends, forecast benchmarks, and report variances to management.
- Support various committees to achieve membership and departmental goals.
- Maintain accurate prospect and membership records and ensure confidentiality of member information.
- Prepare monthly and special membership reports as required.
- This position offers a salary plus commission structure, incentivizing sales performance.
