Overview

The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our nationally recognized certification and membership association. Founded in 1955, the AAMA advances the medical assisting profession through education, credentialing, advocacy and member support.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a mission-driven organization and impacts healthcare nationwide. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the profession while working with passionate members and leaders.

As the chief staff executive, the Executive Director will:

• Partner with the Board of Trustees to drive the association s strategic vision.
• Oversee operations, finances and a staff of professionals.
• Champion advocacy efforts to protect and expand the role of medical assistants.
• Build strong relationships with members, healthcare leaders and external partners.
• Represent AAMA as a spokesperson at conferences and industry events

What we are looking for:

• 1-10 years of association management or senior leadership experience.
• Strong financial, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to inspire staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of healthcare trends and legislation (preferred).
• Bachelor s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• Must reside in or willing to relocate to Chicago, IL.
