Position Overview
This position oversees the facility inquiry board (Grievance Officers) at various facilities within District 3 of the Illinois Department of Corrections’ (IDOC’s) Office of the Chief Inspector. The individual in this role will monitor and track individual in custody grievances to ensure transparency, efficiency and accountability throughout the grievance process in IDOC facilities within the designated District. This Administrator will be monitoring the individual in custody grievance process to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
The Administrator will be identifying and tracking patterns, overseeing and providing quality control for individual in custody grievances, and working with administrative staff to develop and implement strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with staff, administrative staff at the institution level as well as executive staff at the Department of Corrections. We are looking for an energetic candidate looking to be an integral part of the Team.

- Serves as the District 3 Facility Inquiry Board Oversight Manager.
- Provides oversight of Grievance Officers at the facilities in the District.
- Serves as a liaison between facility Grievance Officers and the Administrative Review Board (ARB).
- Serves as spokesperson for the Chief Inspector on issues affecting the Facility level grievance hearings for Individuals in Custody.
- Develops and delivers training to Grievance Officers in the District.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Prefers a Juris Doctorate Degree.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional work experience serving as a subject matter expert in court hearings regarding processes and procedures.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional work experience developing, reviewing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
