JOB PURPOSE
:
The Environmental Safety Compliance Director is responsible for providing enterprise‑wide leadership and oversight of environmental compliance and workplace safety across Crash Champions’ nationwide operations. This newly created role supports the organization’s rapid growth by ensuring compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations across existing locations and newly acquired shops, while driving consistent standards, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations applicable to the automotive repair industry.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct routine audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed environmental compliance considerations into operational processes.
- Establish, implement, and maintain company wide safety programs aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and hazard assessments, recommending and overseeing corrective actions.
- Develop and oversee safety training programs to promote awareness, accountability, and compliance across all levels of the organization.
- Provide leadership and direction to Regional Safety Managers and a national safety team.
- Lead environmental and safety risk assessments across facilities.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to reduce risk and enhance workplace safety.
- Oversee emergency response planning and execution for environmental or safety‑related incidents.
- Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping related to environmental and safety activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding compliance status, trends, and risk exposure.
- Collaborate with internal partners to identify and implement sustainable operational practices.
- Recommend and lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve safety performance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance compliance programs through best practices and innovative solutions.
- Evaluate environmental and safety practices of vendors and suppliers.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure alignment with company environmental and safety standards.
- Lead the implementation of environmental and safety compliance standards in newly acquired locations.
- Assess acquisition readiness and address gaps to ensure timely compliance integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated experience leading environmental compliance and safety programs within the automotive or related industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements and local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including corrective action implementation.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross‑functional partners, and drive change in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.
- This role supports 600+ locations across approximately 30 states.
