Field Supervisor – Intensive Student Services

At Communities In Schools (CIS) of Chicago, we believe students can enhance their learning when their needs are met, and that includes mental and emotional health. Every day, we partner with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and hundreds of community organizations to bring no-cost, high-quality programs directly to schools. These programs help students stay focused, engaged, and on track to graduate.

During the 2025-26 school year, we’ll serve over 80,000 students across 250 schools, connecting them to life‑changing support from arts and academic enrichment to health and mental wellness services. And we need your help to make it happen.

We’re looking for a Student Supports Manager Field Supervisor to join our team. The Field Supervisor will help to manage a growing team of Student Support Managers (SSMs) embedded at our partner schools. The Field Supervisor will provide direct oversight to a group of SSMs as they implement an integrated student support program addressing individual and whole‑school needs. The Field Supervisor will also act as a liaison with school administration and take on leadership roles within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly individual and group clinical and programmatic supervision to SSMs, ensuring high‑quality, ethical, and trauma‑informed practice.
  • Monitor caseloads, documentation, service delivery data, and compliance with organizational, funder, and school requirements.
  • Serve as the primary clinical thought partner for complex cases, crisis response, and mandated reporting decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with school leadership to align services with student and school‑wide goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits to observe, provide coaching, and ensure fidelity to CIS and school‑based service models.
  • Identify trends across schools and proactively recommend program improvements or additional support.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, licensing requirements, and best practices in school‑based mental health.
Program Implementation
  • Ensure the Communities In Schools Integrated Student Supports model is implemented with fidelity at each assigned school site, in alignment with national standards and Chicago Public Schools policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with school leaders; attend key school events; and lead consistent, structured communication and coordination throughout the year.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams to advance organizational goals and ensure seamless execution.
  • Serve as an ambassador for CIS of Chicago through site visits, presentations, community engagement, and select media or external partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives and special projects that support growth, quality improvement, and mission impact.
Data, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Oversee data collection and case file audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to organizational and funder standards.
  • Analyze service delivery and outcome data to identify trends, inform program improvements, and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Translate data insights into clear reports and dashboards for internal leadership, school partners, and funders.
  • Partner with leadership to support the development of grant proposals, compliance reports, and accreditation documentation.
Additional Organizational Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Associate Director and Senior Director of Intensive Student Supports to drive effective, sustainable program implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Actively contribute to internal leadership and management teams, representing field operations and advancing organizational strategy.
