UChicago Medicine
, as a Program Manager – System PMO
. This position is based on-site at Hyde Park, with remote flexibility. Some travel to alternate site locations around Chicagoland will be required.

In this role, the Program Manager will lead a collection of project implementations, providing program-level oversight to cross-functional teams, ensuring that individual initiatives within the program are aligned, successful, and on track to delivery of intended outcomes and value. The Program Manager will provide tactical leadership and guidance to project managers and operational/technical project team members, ensuring that roles are clearly defined, scope/schedule/budget/value remain on track, and that the UChicago Medicine execution model is well adopted and optimized within each team.

The Program Manager will work under the guidance of the Chief Operational Transformation Officer and will partner with other operational, clinical and technology leaders to ensure that teams are successful and that organizational best practices are consistently applied. The role will also support operational leaders along with the System PMO in planning and executing organizational transformation plans related to UChicago Medicine’s strategic goals

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages one or more rapidly evolving system implementation programs that are aligned with the UCM strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensures that execution is planned, managed, and executed in a highly consumer/user-centric fashion, per UCM’s system PMO initiative delivery standards.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of multiple delivery teams within the assigned program, ensuring adequate resource allocation, aligned roles and priorities, and team accountability for their responsibilities, while also tracking progress and value for program projects/initiatives and reporting this information to relevant portfolio or executive leadership.
  • Supports the Chief Operational Transformation Officer and executive leadership by preparing program status updates, identifying and escalating issues/risks, engaging leaders in change management, and presenting program-level updates to executive sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Supports the Chief Operational Transformation Officer and executive leadership team in planning and execution of the systemwide strategic planning and delivery of identified system initiatives.
  • Facilitates collaborative working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams and resources, including IS, operations, analytics, legal/compliance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.
  • Champions the adoption of UCM standard methodologies within assigned programs and project teams and empowers execution teams and resources to identify and implement improvements that contribute to the continuous enhancement of the UCM PMO toolkit and delivery model.
  • Partners with operational and clinical leaders in change management planning and execution in support of the assigned program and manages initiatives, customer expectations, and business priorities within the assigned program.
  • Collaborates with business partners to provide advice on metrics, tools, and outcomes models for assigned programs and projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • At least five (5) years of experience in healthcare, management consulting, strategy, or related fields, in a strategy/growth/product role
  • At least 3 years in large scale program and/or project management experience overseeing enterprise implementations preferably within a health system
  • Requires expert, demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts
  • Requires ability to assess systemwide needs for products and design services to meet those needs
  • Working knowledge of related initiatives and an understanding the impact on the organization of such initiatives
