APR provides pavement marking and traffic control services throughout Northern Illinois. APR is looking for an experienced and dependable Traffic Control Project Manager to oversee traffic control projects from start to finish. This position is responsible for planning jobs, managing schedules, coordinating crews and equipment, monitoring budgets, and making sure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The right candidate will be organized, able to manage multiple projects at once, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Strong communication and leadership skills are important in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage traffic control projects from planning through completion
  • Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and timelines
  • Work closely with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and customers
  • Ensure work is completed safely and meets company and contract standards
  • Help identify and solve project issues before they become larger problems
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other applicable regulations
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, and production
  • Communicate project updates and progress with leadership
  • Assist with hiring, training, and supporting team members
  • Support inventory tracking and purchasing processes
  • Help maintain a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safety
  • Participate in meetings, planning discussions, and process improvement efforts
  • Assist with new branch startup activities and operational growth when needed
Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of related project management or construction experience
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read maps, plans, and roadway signage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites, including occasional overnight travel or weekend work
Preferred
  • Experience in road construction, pavement marking, or traffic control
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Experience with Quick Books and/or Bid2
