Highlights of the Senior Electrical Project Manager Role

Key responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Project Manager include, but are not limited to:
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Overseeing projects from conception, design, and procurement to installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • System Coordination: Managing installation for lighting fixtures, power distribution boards, power monitoring, and low-voltage systems (security, fire alarms, IT/data networks).
  • Budget & Scheduling: Managing project finances, labor hours, material procurement, and creating detailed schedules (using MS Excel or Pro Novos).
  • Technical Coordination: Working with field personnel, electrical engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to CEC, NEC, and local codes, including OSHA safety requirements.
Common Industries and Project types:
  • Commercial / Industrial / Manufacturing: Installing new electrical power distribution, lighting, life safety, low voltage, and control systems
  • Data Centers / Mission-Critical: Installing distribution, backup power, lighting, general power and power connections, low-voltage cabling, generator backup, UPS systems, and security systems.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management
, or equivalent experience. They’ll bring a mix of at least 7-10 years’ experience in electrical construction or industrial project management
. This individual will have a strong proficiency in power distribution, lighting controls, and low-voltage cabling
, as well as familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and construction management software
. The ideal candidate will also have experience leading in a growth-focused, fast-paced environment with strong relationship-building skills across clients, partners, and internal teams.
