About the Role
We are looking for an Ocean Freight Manager to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics
. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of ocean import and export operations within an NVOCC environment, overseeing the strategic direction, operational execution, and regulatory compliance of all ocean freight service (FCL, LCL, import/export). This role leads cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused logistics solutions.
- Manage, oversee, and perform supervisory tasks to direct and control activities in the end-to-end Ocean Freight processes.
- Partner with finance and branch leadership to review account-level profitability and recommend adjustments to improve margin and operational performance.
- Review and manage month‑end reports, P/L, and accounts receivable/payable, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and timely financial reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and third‑party service providers to optimize cargo delivery.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries promptly to maintain satisfaction and trust.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs regulations and trade laws.
- Stay updated on changes in ocean freight regulations and import/export controls.
- Set KPIs for productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and escalation support.
- Act as a senior escalation point for key customers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the hiring, coaching, training, and development of subordinate staff, assigning work and managing performance in accordance with organizational policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or 15+ years of experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in the freight forwarding industry.
- Hazmat / DG experience is preferred.
- 1+ year of Cargo Wise software experience is preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with FCL, LCL, and co‑loading operations.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations).
- Strong computer skills:
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - Demonstrated leadership ability to drive KPIs, employee engagement, and team building.
