Technical Project Manager

The DW and CRM Project Manager is responsible to assist YI in the selection and implementation of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Corporate Customer Relationship Management Systems. This position works closely with project leadership, business units and IT technical staff to ensure the system is delivered on plan and budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Management and Control
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the business need and effectively participates in the development and implementation of business solutions.
  • Monitors project performance to maintain the quality of services, deliverables, and content.
  • Actively manages the work efforts of multiple cross-functional teams through the project plan.
  • Manages project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning.
  • Identifies and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation.
  • Leads the initiative on planning and implementation of contingency plans.
  • Manages project plan and highlights deviation from the plan, along with countermeasures.
  • Manages Issues Log, removes bottlenecks and highlights issues to Steering Committee as required.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify functions/features required but not organically available in the new systems and follow up with such enhancements in the new system.
  • Manages data integration between the new DW and CRM systems and other systems.
  • Identifies procedural changes and establishes new workflow and procedures in accordance with the interface with the new DW and CRM systems.
  • Manages the daily activities of the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of data warehouse systems and projects.
  • Project Budget Management
  • Manages budget, costs, and report on variances, and any required countermeasures.
  • Provides forecast of future expenses and ensures that the expenses are in-line with budget.
  • Manages and control variances to the budget and ensures that expenditures are in-line with budget.
  • Communications
  • Responsible for communicating project status, issues, risks to Steering Committee and all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and work with user departments in activities related to the transition to the new DW and CRM systems.
  • Develops documentation; monitors and reports project status; assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Management of Resources
  • Manages and motivates the project team, while driving accountability.
  • Works with the Steering Committee to ensure that the project is properly staffed.
  • Highlights resource gaps and provides alternative solutions in meeting the gaps.
  • Engages with the vendor to manages the vendor resources as and when appropriate.
  • Management of Scope and Change Requests
  • Establishes basic scope control procedures.
  • Identifies and control changes to scope and deviation from agreed functionality.
  • Works with stakeholders and vendor validate and asses’ requirements against project objectives and communicate and escalate to steering committee as required.
  • Monitors and validates with process owner’s functionality against agreed requirements.
  • Installs processes for auditing data warehouses and ensuring data quality.
  • Change Management
  • Ensures that the business is ready for the new system.
  • Develops change management plans with the project teams.
  • Highlights issues with training and change management with the Steering Committee.
  • Responsible for the overall training plan.
  • Manages user acceptance testing, including test cases and user signoff.
  • Reports testing status and metrics.
  • Oversees data design and the creation of database architecture and data repositories.
  • Ensures that reporting, modeling, and ETL projects and initiatives are supported fully and run smoothly.
  • Installs processes for auditing data warehouses and ensuring data quality.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree required.
  • Experience in Agile methodology using one of the following tools (Azure Dev Ops, TFS, Mavenlink, or Jira).
  • Must have the ability to attend highly technical meetings and convert those meetings to status, decisions and action items.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing Data Warehouse implementation projects for >8 years is required.
